National Recognition: America in Bloom 2003
America in Bloom promotes nationwide beautification through education and community involvement by encouraging the use of flowers, plants, trees, and other environmental and lifestyle enhancements. Founded in 2001, America in Bloom is modeled after proven, successful programs in Europe and Canada.
They offer a national awards program for cities, towns, townships, college and university campuses, business districts, military installations and identified sections of large cities. The program provides a framework for improving the overall quality of life.
The Village of Warwick was named a first place winner in 2003.

Communities in Bloom, a Canadian-based organization hosts an International Challenge that invites winners from different National Programs (Communities in Bloom, Britain in Bloom, America in Bloom, Tidy Towns of Ireland, Japan in Bloom, Entente Florale and others) competing with each other based on population categories.
The program consists of communities receiving information and being evaluated by an international jury on the accomplishments of their entire community (municipal, private, corporate and institutional sectors, citizens) on eight key criteria: Tidiness, Environmental Action, Heritage Conservation, Urban Forestry, Landscaped Areas, Turf & Groundcovers, Floral Displays and Community Involvement. The evaluation takes place in July and August. The Village of Warwick was named a first place winner in 2010.
